Download 2012: Latest News

Donnington Park welcomes back Download festival for another year, but this year is very special indeed. Download 2012 is the 10th anniversary of the famous rock and metal festival. There has been plenty of activity on the line-up and some very recent additions have been announced.

Take a look at this article to find out who has been added to the bill…

The latest additions to the line-up involve the American 5-piece metal monsters Killswitch Engage, as they make another appearance at Download after having stepped in last minute in 2010. These guys will appear on the second stage on Saturday 9th June alongside Surrey-boys You Me At Six. Californian punk rockers NOFX also joined the already intriguing Friday as they grace the main stage with the likes of Chase & Status, Fear Factory and the unforgettable electro masters The Prodigy.

Returning for another yet on the bounce, Black Veil Brides have secured their name on the list and they have promised to up their game and bring even more of a spectacle than last year. Finnish metallers Nightwish have also been confirmed on the bill and will be playing a variety of songs across their impressive 14 year career. The final acts to recently be confirmed are Florida rockers Shinedown and they have a brand new album to flash. These classic rockers will certainly draw a crowd and no matter what genre of music you are into there is no way you will not be amazed by Brent Smith’s voice.

Being the 10th anniversary of Download it would come as no surprise if this was to be the best we have seen from Donnington Park. All weekend tickets have been released and average around the £200 mark. Day tickets have also recently been released and all tickets can be bought HERE directly on the Download website. Download Festival will take place in Donnington Park and the camping area will be open from Wednesday 6th June with music commencing on Friday 8th June.

And here is a little something you Download veterans may remember from 2009…
